A photovoltaic power station is a photovoltaic power generation system which is connected to an electricity transmission grid and provides electricity to it. The PV system is composed of PV arrays, charge and discharge controller, inverter, AC power distribution cabinets, solar tracking control system, etc. PV power stations can be classified into ground-mounted PV stations and distributed PV stations, depending on the ways they are applied and the transmission distance between the stations and the users.

Distributed PV power generation particularly refers to a distributed power generating system which adopts PV modules to directly convert solar power into electricity.

It is a new type of power generation and comprehensive utilisation of energy with bright development prospects. It advocates the principle of short-distance operation, in terms of power generation, grid connection, conversion and utilisation, and thus it can effectively boost the generation output from PV stations of the same size. Meanwhile, it also solves the problem of energy loss due to step-up transformation and long-distance transmission.

Currently, distributed PV power generation system, the most widely applied PV system, is found on the rooftops of buildings in cities. That type of PV project has to be connected to the public grid and supply electricity to power users nearby jointly with the grid.

  • Intelligent Remote Monitoring Technology: it does not only allow monitoring of the PV system’s operation in the user end, but also enables remote monitoring and control of the entire system. Thus, unmanned operation and remote monitoring of the company’s PV power stations and projects are made possible;
  • PV string intelligent monitoring device: it is used for the intelligent monitoring of signals such as the electric current and voltage of a PV string, delivering the signals to the principle monitoring unit to enable the intelligent monitoring of the PV system; and
  • Reverse power monitoring system: it comprises reverse power monitoring and controlling devices and is applied to the self-consumption anti-reflux PV system. The reverse power monitoring device detects the signal from the grid and then delivers it to the reverse power controlling device. The reverse power controlling device can control the inverter’s output according to the signed agreement after signal analysis.
